Silver Shoes
After the self call out in my last post I needed to think of positive things. Everyone has their hide from the world thing (things in my case), and mine is first and foremost fashion. This series will focus on all the things I loved this year.
My first love is silver shoes. These beauties have been stuck in my noggin ever since I first wandered upon them on Pinterest. There’s just something about a shoe that makes a statement. Carrie Bradshaw has her manolos and I have my converse.
I think everyone chooses brands and they become loyal to them through marketing or rewards programs or legacy. Mine, as I assume most american families is, are Nike and Converse. I don’t buy sneakers that aren’t Nike or Converse. My most prized possession shoe is my all white converse lowtops and my leather nike running shoes.
I’m very classic with my style (boring) and white shoes just ignite this flame of warmth inside of me. If we are to live shallow capitalistic lives then I will live and die by a pair of white shoes. Which ironically is why I stumbled upon these silver sneakers in the first place.
To me they are the perfect elevation of an outfit. I have a pair of rose gold converse and they are the main event in any outfit. Sometimes though I want something a little more quiet. Well as quiet as silver shoes can be.
So maybe I just need a silver pair first and then to stumble upon a gold pair that will change my entire style out look later on.
I shouldn’t even just limit myself to sneakers. Those miu miu silver flats are just screaming at me to hurry up and graduate with my MRS degree so that I can buy them. Those silver flats I have been stalking for weeks, months at this point to only go back to the zara website and see them sold out.
Its psychological warfare from these brands at this point. Make me wait months for these shoes so when the price is inevitably marked up 200% I’ll still buy them.
I still love them though so send thoughts and prayers in my time of need (insert sobbing emoji).
