Collecting All My Words

I don’t believe writing is something that is innate to certain people. I think we learn and grow and as we go along through life some of us become writers and some of us simply enjoy reading.

I was never one to sit and let others do things for me though. I want to tackle every field and try on all these lives before finding one that fits. And, oh so many have I tried on. I was super preppy in middle school. I religiously wore cardigans and scrunchies and converse. I listened to One Direction and Taylor Swift and Apple Music’s “Teen Pop” playlist exclusively.

I was Lana Del Rey American. I wore jeans, Oversized Leather jackets, my same old converse, and red, white, and blue. Born In The Usa was nearly my top album that year if it wasn’t for Red by Taylor Swift. By the end of High School I was very into neutrals, cottage core, and a hyperfeminine look. I wore tan, beige, and white until winter when I traded it for browns and blacks.

All these lives I lived. All these boys I loved. All these friends I made. All these days I lived. The biggest thing that’s stuck throughout the many versions of Alzie that I’ve lived through is that at heart I’m a writer.

I’m no Maya Angelou, Sylvia Plath, Toni Morrison, or any other of my favorite writers, but I love words. I love how you can just string them along. I love how humans have found a way to express their feelings and their thoughts and share their stories and cultures. I love words.

I recently published 1/4 of the free works I want to share with you all. I hope you all enjoyed reading them and want more because I have plenty more to share.

Here’s to all the love and things I’ve loved this year and most importantly words <3
